Consider/Approve Student Locker Bid for Obion County Central and South Fulton High Schools

Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of student lockers (119 total) for the alternative school programs at Obion County Central and South Fulton High Schools. Additionally, South Fulton High School requested one hundred (100) student lockers during our budget hearings (specifications and drawings attached). Currently, South Fulton High School has half lockers, which are not sufficient for high school students. The half lockers will be utilized by the alternative school program and middle school students. We received bids for this purchase as follows:

Division 10 – $24,500.00
Dale and Dale – $12,500.00
Townsend Door and Hardware – $13,417.00

Funds for the students lockers are budgeted in the FY12 General Purpose School Fund budget.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the low bid as submitted by Dale and Dale in the amount of $12,500.00 for 119 full-size student lockers.
